Sunsense has an immediate opening for a Lead Solar Installer to work from our Carbondale office. You must be a mechanically minded individual to work in the field installing residential and light commercial grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) systems. The Lead Solar Installer will be responsible for managing and installing the photovoltaic system from beginning to end. In this position, the Lead PV Installer will coordinate with operations manager and work side by side while leading his/her crew members. They will install all photovoltaic system components while managing the installation of a fully functional photovoltaic system. The overall goal of the Lead PV Installer is to work with Sunsense field crews to achieve completion of the project with the highest level of safety, quality, and efficiency while ensuring conformance with the plans and specifications.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of previous solar installation experienced preferred (applicants with no  solar experience will not be considered.
  • Experience installing both roof and ground mount systems.
  • NABCEP Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience complying with OHSA safety requirements and regulations.
  • Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions & environments, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling    and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • ROCK CLIMBERS WANTED! There will be significant roof work so being comfortable with ladders, working on steep pitches and in general being able to work safely and efficiently off the ground from a roof is required.
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the field as required.
  • Professional appearance and customer service skills
  • Ability to plan, route and bend metallic and PVC conduit
  • Hard working attitude
  • Extremely reliable
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Detail oriented
